To get their hands on the heads of the Golden Party Hat, players must complete "various objectives" and collect eight golden shards in exchange for their efforts with OSRS Gold. Once the eight shards are collected, they can be combined into a Golden Party Hat.
However, not only is the event limited in time, but only one golden hat is able to be crafted for each player. Like their 2001 predecessors, Jagex claims of the golden the hats "after the cut-off date they will not be available to earn again!"
The new item's impact on the in-game economy , and decreases the value of the existing partyhats or becomes an even more premium item remains to be seen. Jagex will be celebrating this event with a similar manner with a change to the in-game Grand Exchange location into "a Golden Party Hat winter wonderland".
The golden hat marks the final feature (sorry) to the RuneScape's annual 20th anniversary celebrations. This event is launching alongside the returning partyhat event, it's the fourth and final part of the anniversary quest Once Upon a Time, running all time.
A fitting title Finale, the chapter is described as "the end of the adventure which explores RuneScape's historical, present, as well as future and ends the story's journey to a close for Relomia the quest's antagonist."
Finale will require players to visit three locations - Black Knight's Fortress The World Gate, and the Kami-Shima's island, which may provide glimpses of future futures. The completion of the chapter will reward participants with "four Quest points, a new T5 magic dice with Cheap RS Gold.
The penultimate reward track unlock at the end of the May Quest Point Caravan, a medium-sized XP lamp,"Relomia's shadow Rip Home Teleport cosmetic-override 2 Treasure Hunter keys" and "one more surprise to be found".
